Table of contents18
From everyday groceries to fresh fish and local market finds, this guide brings together the best shopping options around Sotogrande, Manilva, Estepona, Casares and the New Golden Mile, with opening hours, addresses and practical local advice.

Every supermarket near Sotogrande, Estepona, and Manilva with opening hours, addresses, and Sunday options — plus weekly markets, fresh fish, and wine shops.
One of the first things most guests wonder after arriving at a holiday rental on the western Costa del Sol is simple: where can we buy food, and how far do we need to drive?
The answer depends on where you are staying. A supermarket that feels just around the corner in Manilva may not be quite as convenient if your apartment is in Casares, Estepona or Sotogrande. That is why we have organized this guide by location — so you can see what is nearby without opening Google Maps every five minutes.
Below you will find every major supermarket in the area with opening hours and addresses, the weekly street markets, shopping centres for clothes and everyday essentials, the best places to buy fresh fish, and a handful of specialist wine shops. The guide was put together by the Sunset Rental team, who live and work on this part of the Costa del Sol all year round — so these are practical recommendations from people who actually use these places themselves.
1. Sotogrande - Supermarkets, Markets and Shopping
Sotogrande is a private urbanization rather than a conventional town, which means the retail options within the gates are limited. What exists is high quality and convenient for daily needs — but for a full weekly shop, most residents drive to Estepona or Sabinillas.
🛒 Supermarkets in Sotogrande

Lidl covers everyday basics well — bakery, fresh produce, dairy, a decent wine selection and the weekly rotating non-food specials. El Corte Inglés is the better option for quality: imported products, international brands, a good deli counter, wines and spirits, and a broader range than you would typically expect from a supermarket. Both are closed on Sundays

Shopping here has its own rhythm. The big supermarkets close on Sundays and nobody apologises for it — that is just how Spain works, and once you accept it, it is actually quite pleasant. Sunday mornings are for the market, for coffee at the marina, for buying tomatoes from someone who grew them.
The Wednesday market in Estepona is worth setting an alarm for. And if you only remember one address from this entire guide, make it this one: Carrefour Express, Avenida Manilva 1, Sabinillas — open every day, no exceptions.
The best thing about shopping in this part of Spain is that it still feels like shopping in Spain. The fish came off a boat this morning. The woman at the market stall has been selling the same olive oil for fifteen years. That is worth more than a loyalty card.
