A car is genuinely worth having if you want to beach-club-hop along this stretch. Uber doesn't operate in Sotogrande and local taxis can be unreliable at short notice, so most guests self-drive or pre-book transfers. The nearest airport is Gibraltar (around 25 minutes from Sotogrande), with Málaga about an hour to 90 minutes away depending on which end of this guide you're heading to.

1. Sotogrande & San Roque
Sotogrande itself is part of the municipality of San Roque, and the wider coastline here — from the marina down through Torreguadiaro and up towards Alcaidesa and Cala Sardina — shares the same relaxed, low-key character. The polished end sits around Sotogrande Marina/Puerto; the easy, chiringuito end is Torreguadiaro beach and the more natural coves further north.

The Beach at La Reserva Club is one of the most distinctive venues in Sotogrande. Instead of sitting directly on the coast, it is built around a large man-made lagoon with a sandy beach, waiter-served sunbeds and private chambaos.
The club also has an adults-only swimming pool and a sports lagoon where guests can try activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, e-foiling and water biking. Motorised water sports are not permitted, helping the venue maintain a calmer atmosphere.
Sunbed prices are typically around €25 for a single bed and €60 for a double bed, although rates may change depending on the season and event schedule.
Dining options include Ancala, which serves Andalusian and Nikkei-inspired dishes, rice specialities and grilled food, while Chiringa offers a more casual menu with options such as burgers and poke bowls.
During Easter and the main summer season, organised activities are usually available for children aged four and over. The Beach also hosts DJ sessions and special summer events.
